Safe steps while you wait
Turn the system off if you smell burning, see smoke, hear severe mechanical noise, or notice water near electrical components. Avoid opening panels or handling capacitors, wiring, or refrigerant lines.
- Check that the thermostat is set to cool
- Check the visible breaker once; do not repeatedly reset a breaker that trips
- Replace a heavily blocked return filter only if it is safely accessible
- Keep exterior doors and windows closed when practical

The $75 fee covers the trip and diagnosis of the immediate concern. If a tune-up or repair is recommended, the scope and price are explained before work begins.
